I spent three nights at a lovely hotel during my visit to enjoy the stunning views of the lake and mountains. The luxurious and spacious room was a standout, complete with a comfortable bed that made every night a delight. The breakfast offered a great variety just a short walk away, while the housekeeping staff impressed me with their perfect service.
I strongly recommend this hotel.

Truly enjoyed staying at the functional and large room with a double bed. The breakfast selection was good hot with the wakatipu grill and great view and barista coffee;))

It was a wonderful place, had absolutely exceptional staff with a second staff member around. The rooms were exceptionally nice and view of the lake was particularly good! The hotel was in the remote setting in the restaurant on the waterfront.

Stayed there for trip and had a wonderful experience, so I would stay here again. It was a gorgeous hotel with lake views and premium Wi-Fi. The venue was in a remote location near to the Frankton shops and the lake and walking track.

Its location away from the central Queenstown township was favourable and magnificent. We where offered a hot breakfast with real coffee and NZD39pp-cheaper options and the wakatipu grill.

Comfy bed but parking caused stress.

1. There was no dresser (cabinet) space to put clothes. 2. Garbage (rubbish) containers were inadequate - small and not enough of them 3. The decline in the floor from the main area into the bathroom is unnecessary. I predict you will have injures from people that will forgot and fall when they approach from the bathroom into the main area.

The staff were fantastic - In particular, Sebastian was great on our arrival - sense of humour first, friendly second and above all efficient and accommodating - (we arrived a bit early so he worked around that which we really appreciated). A great experience over-all (will come back)
I believe in this day and age - Wifi should be available at all points in the hotel as part of the nightly rate. Charging exorbitant fees to access it from the lobby comes across as gouging (which is a real turn off).

luxurious stay but minor hiccups
The view from the Twin Room was amazing, showcasing both the water and mountains perfectly. The staff demonstrated really good attentiveness and addressed our needs promptly.

Amazing! Great staff made us feel welcome and a friend of the hotel, great room, parking was excellent as well as other bonuses like the cinema, water taxi and free trips into town. Usually would stay at different hotels when we go to Queenstown but we had such a great time that we have decided that when we stay in Queenstown we are going to continue to come to the Kawarau Hotel everytime!!Loved it!!
Only things 2 things we found werent so good which are only minor things, they are there was only tea/coffee provided in the rooms but our group of four are only hot chocolate drinkers so this would have been nice to have. The other issue is breakfast was rather expensive compared to what we have had at other hotels for a similar price ie we have had a buffet of pancakes, sausages, bacon and a lot of other things for I think only $5 per person differance in price.

It was just a balanced option for a city escape in Queenstown with good price value. The room was nice, clean, and spacious with a small kitchen that had all the basic cooking utensils. Be prepared for slow service at the front desk during busy times.
